Lujain Al Ali '20: Viable Business/Entrepreneurship Learning Competency

During my junior year, I took part in a one-year entrepreneurship program offered by the University of Portland. This program, known as the Entrepreneur Scholars Program, allows students to develop a business venture. I worked on a venture which I named Walk-I-Like, an elevated walkway structure. My proposal was to convert unoccupied space in a city to a bike, pedestrian, and environmentally friendly walkway. The walkway would include innovative features such as solar panels, bike lanes, booths, and gallery areas. Throughout the program, I learned how to create and validate a business venture such that it becomes successful if implemented.
