Academic Programs
Where do you want to make your mark?
The Donald P. Shiley School of Engineering offers five majors across four program areas for students to explore concepts, conduct research with faculty, and create solutions to engineering challenges in our world today. Explore our options to learn more!
Civil and Environmental Engineering
Our degrees in civil and environmental engineering prepares students to design, construct, and operate the world’s infrastructure to improve life for everyone.
Computer Science
Computer science students collaborate to design hardware and software solutions-beginning with defining a problem, designing a solution, and testing and implementing the final product.
Electrical Engineering
Electrical engineering students learn to design and test the electrical and electronic devices that we rely on day-to-day, such as cell phones, medical devices, robots, computers, satellites, and renewable energy systems.
Mechanical Engineering
From renewable energies to space exploration, autonomous vehicles to assistive technologies, mechanical engineering students will design, build, and test in service to humanity.
Additional programs of study
Biomedical Engineering
The Biomedical Engineering program combines the study of the technical, medical, business, ethical, and entrepreneurial aspects necessary to conceive, design, and market innovative and cutting-edge healthcare products.
Innovation Minor
Innovation is the journey of creating meaning and value. Students will develop an innovative mindset through the interdisciplinary practices of human-centered design and creative problem solving.
