MECOP and CECOP programs
About MECOP
The Multiple Engineering Co-op Program (MECOP) and the Civil Engineering Co-op Program (CECOP) represent a collaborative effort between Oregon State University, Portland State University, Oregon Tech, University of Portland and more than 150 northwest companies and municipalities. Almost 40 years ago, industry representatives from some of the top northwest companies conceived of the MECOP program to keep the best and brightest engineers working in the northwest after graduation by connecting them to northwest companies for extended internship opportunities.
Application Process
The University of Portland joined the MECOP program in 2012. All engineering disciplines at UP can participate in MECOP and CECOP internships including Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Engineering (Electrical Engineering with a Computer Engineering Minor). The Shiley School of Engineering is very proud to be a part of this valuable program.
