Post a Job or Internship

If you are interested in hiring Shiley students, the University of Portland’s Career Center can help connect your company to events and resources on campus. To ensure that our community has equal access to all opportunities, University of Portland uses a centralized online posting platform called Handshake for all job and internship opportunities for students and alumni. 

Each company must create a free employer account and once approved by the Career Center, select +Post a Job/Internship in order to post a position. Then, once approved by the Career Center the opportunity will be live to the University of Portland community.

Helpful tips for job and internship postings:

To help candidates navigate the position and to encourage them to apply, we ask employers to include as much detailed information as possible!

  • We encourage employers to include a brief overview of their company.
  • A few sentences (3-5) summarizing the position including major tasks the role would perform, and day-to-day duties included within the role.
  • Minimum preferred qualifications including specific experiences/background the ideal candidate would have.
  • Information on how to apply for the role.

An advantage of Handshake is the ability to post one position to multiple schools in Oregon, or throughout the country with a single click!
