Engineering Management: Home
Our engineering management program provides an excellent undergraduate education which stresses a basic understanding of engineering and business principles and their applications in the real world. An engineering education, based on a strong liberal arts foundation, prepares students to make contributions to the world guided by concerns for issues of justice and ethical behavior. To achieve the objectives of the engineering management program at the University of Portland, students take three years of engineering courses and balance these with one year of business classes. Required courses in both areas assure a strong foundation in engineering as well as business. Technical and business electives round out the degree program and let the student concentrate in various sub-fields of these disciplines.
The engineering management program is a good choice for the student who wants to work at the interface of the business and technical worlds. A UP engineering management graduate's career may involve contract supervision, construction management, marketing of high technology products, manufacturing, quality control, etc.
