Electrical Engineering: FIRST
The University of Portland is pleased to offer five $3,000 merit-‐based scholarships to students who have participated in a FIRST Robotics Competition in high school. Each scholarship is renewable for 4 years, for a total of $12,000. The scholarship will be automatically renewed each year provided the student maintains a 2.7 cumulative college GPA and is otherwise making satisfactory academic progress. In order for the selected students to receive the scholarship award, the student must be admitted to the University of Portland within a STEM (science, technology, engineering or math) major, have a 3.5 high school GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and a minimum combined SAT score of 1100.

Eligibility:
- To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- Be a senior in high school
- Have participated on a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team or a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team during your high school career
- Apply and be admitted to the University of Portland as a full-‐time undergraduate student
- Have a combined SAT score of 1100 and a GPA of at least 3.5, on a scale of 4.0
- Have authorization to work in the United States on a full-‐time basis for other than training purposes (student/temporary visas do not qualify)
Scholarship Application Instructions:
To apply for the University of Portland FIRST Scholarship, submit the following:
- Complete FIRST Scholarship application available at www.up.edu/finaid/forms
- A letter of recommendation from an adult mentor/coach on your FIRST team
- Applicants are also strongly encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov so they can be considered for all available funding

We must receive your completed application and letter of recommendation by March 1, 2013.
