Shiley School of Engineering: International Programs
Why Become a Global Engineer?
Global competency is essential for the 21st century engineer & computer scientist as technical projects continue to be distributed across international sites. A successful career often requires significant intercultural skills as you work with colleagues “virtually” at a distance, in person at an international site, or next door in the office of a multinational corporation.
At the University of Portland, we encourage you to gain international experience and we are working to increase the opportunities available. For now, the global opportunities include year-long programs, semester programs, summer session courses, service projects, research opportunities, and foreign language courses.
