IAESTE is an organization external to the University of
Portland that helps match US undergraduates in technical fields
(including engineering) with internships abroad. Contact IAESTE directly.
RISE - Research Internships in Science and Engineering gives engineering and computer science students the chance to spend a summer working with doctoral students at German universities and research institutions on serious research projects. The doctoral students help integrate the undergraduate directly into the lab work and serve as personal and professional mentors. You don't need to know German to participate. Contact RISE directly to apply by the Jan 31st deadline.
Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange is an organization external to University of Portland that offers 1-year fellowships for you to study and intern in Germany. No German is needed and you will receive intensive German language instruction as part of the program. This may be a great opportunity for someone after graduation who has not decided on a specific graduate program or employer, and did not get to study abroad as a student. The deadline is Dec 1st of each year for a start date the following July (2 months after graduation). Contact CBYX directly.
