Computer Science: Facilities

The computer science facilities are housed in Engineering Hall which is situated on the academic quad of the University of Portland campus.  There are two general computing laboratories open for all engineering students.

In addition, computer science has a dedicated teaching laboratory containing 24 workstations, where some lectures and most laboratory courses are held.

The labs contain modern PCs with over 40 installed software packages.  Students have access to modern software development tools such as Visual Studio, Eclipse, Borland, and BlueJ.  The workstations are equipped with several programming languages, such as JAVA, C++, C, LISP, Scheme, Python, Perl, Ruby, and SQL.  All workstations are maintained by Division of Information Services.
