Computer Science: Our Goal

The primary goal of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is the preparation of computer scientists whose education meets the objectives of the School of Engineering as well as those set in the mission of the University.  The faculty has established the following program objectives:

• Prepare students for entry-level positions as well as graduate schools.
• Prepare graduates who have a broad background in engineering fundamentals and the ability to solve problems.
• Prepare graduates who possess technical proficiency and sound judgment.
• Prepare graduates who are competent in both computer proficiency and written and oral communication skills. 
• Prepare graduates who have an understanding of professional issues such as economics, ethics, teamwork, and leadership.
• Provide a stimulating environment and promote life-long learning.
